President's message

Dear friends!

The Far Eastern State Technical Fisheries University (FESTFU) is the leading industry-specific university in the Russian Far East, which trains personnel for the fishing and merchant fleets. Today it is difficult to find an enterprise in the field of trade, aquaculture, fish processing, shipping operations and logistics wherever a graduate of FESTFU would work and fit in perfectly well in all these areas of industries and specializations. 

For the past 89 meritorious years the innovative research and revolutionary developments of our scientists have made a great progress and now are successfully implemented and used in the industry. The FESTFU’s reproduction and cultivation plants where aquatic organisms are bred are the only educational and research centers in the region, where students undergo internship along with the scientists involved in the cultivation of marine fauna.

An important advantage of FESTFU is its geographical location at the heart of the Asia-Pacific Region, which is one of the most dynamically developing regions of the world. We conduct joint undergraduate programs in partnership with universities of China. Specialists graduated from our university successfully work in the fishery and food industries of the PRC.

The pride of FESTFU is the sail training ship “Pallada”. In July 2019 the ship will celebrate her 30th anniversary. Over the past years “Pallada” has become a monumental symbol not only of the Far Eastern Region, but also of the Russian Federation.

The history of our university is an important milestone in country's fisheries sector formation and development. We are justifiably proud of our scientific achievements and are looking forward to make our university an honor to the industry and the Russian Far East.
