The competition of basketball players for the cup of the rector of FESTFU has ended.

The university basketball team once again confirmed the title of the strongest team in the region. On the final day, the teams of FEFU and FESTFU-2 were the first to enter the court, playing third place in a head-to-head match. The meeting was held with a noticeable advantage of more experienced athletes from the federal university. Only in the second quarter, our youngsters were able to impose a serious struggle on their opponents. The result of the meeting is 74:48 (16:11, 15:16, 21:7, 22:14).

The main event of the tournament was the final meeting of old rivals - the teams of FESTFU-1 and VSUES (now VVGU), which determined the owner of the main prize. The start of the game was marked by the traditional for this tournament jerk of the first five of VSUES, and the numbers 5:0 in favor of the guests lit up on the scoreboard. But our experienced athletes quickly seized the initiative and took the lead by the middle of the first segment. In the future, our team only increased its advantage, having completed the meeting with a complete defeat of the visiting teams - 111:41 (23:14, 37:6, 27:12, 24:9). A well-deserved victory for the wards of coach Artur Kudinov and the first cup of the new season!

This is the first time that an event of this magnitude has been organized within the walls of the university. In many ways, it became possible thanks to the targeted support of the university's industry partner, the Nakhodka Active Marine Fishing Base (NBAMR). We already wrote that in August this year, the company handed over to the university sports equipment - a modern electronic scoreboard, consisting of three elements: a large main monitor and two additional ones, which now allows Dalrybvtuz to organize official sports events at the sports complex at the regional and interregional levels.

I would also like to note that despite the evening time of the game schedule, the past event attracted the attention of a large number of fans and honored guests. During the days of the competition, the championship games were given personal attention by the heads of financial organizations - partners of the university: Oksana Shukhat, deputy manager of the Primorsky branch of Sberbank, Alexei Stepuro, head of the Primorsky regional branch of Rosselkhozbank, as well as representatives of the Primorsky territorial department of the Federal Agency for Fishery and other honored guests.
