The results of the year and plans for the development of branch universities of the Federal Agency for Fishery were discussed in Kaliningrad

In Kaliningrad, a meeting of the rectors of the departmental universities of the Federal Agency for Fishery was held under the leadership of the Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Fisheries Vasily Sokolov. The event was attended by the rector of Dalrybvtuz Oleg Shcheka.

The meeting of the heads of industry universities was devoted to the participation of organizations in the implementation of the Strategy for the Development of the Fisheries Industry until 2030, the participants also discussed the prospects for the development of sports in educational organizations and the preparation of the first international forum "Fishing skills".

The head of FESTFU Oleg L. Shcheka made a report on the topic "The role and significance of FESTU in the implementation of the Strategy for the development of the fishery complex until 2030". In his speech, he noted that, according to experts' forecasts, by 2030 in the Far Eastern Federal District, the need for personnel in the fishery industry will increase by 17,400 jobs. To maintain the focus of applicants' attention on obtaining fisheries and maritime education and their further work in the region in the chosen specialties, the university today pays special attention to the content agenda of educational and extracurricular activities of students: the portfolio of educational programs for additional professional education is expanding, a new Center of Professional Competencies has been formed on the basis of the university, an educational online platform based on the Moodle application "FESTFU Online University" was launched, the skills acquired by students are annually demonstrated at the WorldSkills fishery championship.

The heads of all branches of FESTFU and other educational organizations were also connected to the meeting via video conferencing. As a result of the meeting, Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Fisheries Vasily Sokolov noted the successes in the development of the educational fishery complex and outlined the priority tasks for the next period.
