June 27 - World Fisheries Day

This holiday has been celebrated annually since 1985. It was established by the decision of the International Conference on the Regulation and Development of Fisheries, which was held in Rome in July 1984.

In Russia, as in many other countries, fishing is one of the leading industries. FESTFU has been training personnel for fisheries industry for almost 90 years.

The main objective of the Department of Industrial Fisheries of the Institute of Fisheries and Aquaculture is the training of highly skilled industrial fishery specialists, bachelors and masters in the areas of Industrial Fisheries, competitive in the labor market and ready for professional growth. Due to the material and technical base of the university, students acquire not only theoretical, but also practical knowledge required for employment in a fishing enterprise.
