Maritime Institute
Maritime Institute trains crew members of sea ships in accordance with the International Convention on Training, Certification and Watch-keeping for Seafarers. Throughout the entire period of study students have course of English - international language of sailors. According to test results the diploma of interpreter is granted. Cadets are on full state support. Food, clothing, accommodation in comfortable dormitories for them are free of charge.
Distinctive feature of training in Institute is compulsory internship on the board of training sailing vessel "Pallada". “Pallada” is going to voyages to different countries, supporting international partnerships with academic institutions of China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam and Singapore. In addition, for providing working Internships University signs contracts with organizations - the owners of the fishing ships and merchant fleet vessels, where graduates can find jobs in the future. Students and cadets gain Sailing Qualification and upon graduation receive a state diploma of higher education and international diploma, allowing to keep a watch in accordance with the requirements of the International Convention on Training, Certification and Watch-keeping for Seafarers of 1978, as amended.

Ship Navigation
Future navigators and captains receive deep knowledge in the field of navigation, theory, ship construction and layout, means of navigation, ship handling, maritime safety and law. Acquiring practical experience in navigation, students use the received knowledge in the scientific activity of the university and industry.
Operation of ship electric equipment and automatic equipment
During training cadets learn to handle automatic equipment, electrical machines and devices, electronic devices, microprocessor-based control systems, etc. This experience allows them to become in the future high-demand electricians on ships of various types.
Operation of ship power units
Graduates can work as engineers in the sphere “exploitation of ship internal combustion engines, other power-engineering equipment and supporting machinery “ on the ships of almost all types, as well as at the docs and shipyards.

Graduate of this major start their career as stevedore and then can reach the positions of engineer for commercial activity and chief specialists. Most likely graduates achieve top positions in the shipping companies, ports, stevedoring companies, brokerage, fright forwarding companies, surveyor companies, supervising companies, supply companies and other companies of the transport infrastructure.

Graduates of this area find their work place in the enterprises specializing in the management of the process of moving material flows by all means of transportation. They master the skills of planning and management of logistics projects for cargo delivery, study methods to optimize vehicle loading as well as port storage and terminal facilities.
Operation of transport-technological machines and systems
Maintenance of transport and transport-technological machines and equipment (food and processing industry)
Operation of handling equipment for ports and transport terminal.
Graduates of this department manage operation of any transport company based on the knowledge of the regulatory framework for transport services, principles of operation and construction of vehicles. They work as managers in service business and corporate service, at vehicle service station and in dealer showrooms. Graduates can also be employees of certification and licensing services, of engineering design and research organizations

Area of professional activity for graduates of this major includes a set of technical tools, techniques and methods for production, transmission, distribution, conversion and usage of electrical energy, management of energy flows, development and manufacturing of components, devices and systems that implement those processes.
